This is almost a niche wine of which some 10,000 bottles are produced a year. The vineyards are in the town of Lonato, in the province of Brescia, along the road linking the village to the sanctuary of Madonna della Scoperta, between Desenzano and Sirmione. The wine is made from only Trebbiano di Lugana grapes, a variety similar to Verdicchio. Fermentation takes place half in stainless steel vats and half in barriques and it ages for 12 months on the lees.
Its color is intense and the aroma has a minerality that underscores the citrus notes of citron and pear that are on a toasted background of coffee and cappuccino. The flavor has an excellent elegance and there is a great balance between the fresh and soft components. The finish is good, long and taut.
