Luna Mater 2008

Made from 40% Malvasia Puntinata grapes, 35% Malvasia di Candia, 10% Bombino Bianco, 10% Greco and 5% Trebbiano Giallo. This was the perfect year: not too hot and with the harvest not taking place too early. It is a magnificent version. The colour is a brilliant, clear golden yellow. Its perfumes are even complex, with lightly aromatic citrus-like sensations, along with tones of fresh almonds and the start of evolution towards faintly smoky and mineral notes. The fruit on the palate is exquisitely balanced in spite of its powerful structure, set off as it is by a very Mediterranean-style tangy vein, which leads into an extremely long, warming finish.
