Made from 40% Malvasia Puntinata grapes, 35% Malvasia di Candia, 10% Bombino Bianco, 10% Greco and 5% Trebbiano Giallo. This was a hot year with a very early harvest. The wine is incredible: a white with a golden colour and a broad, alcoholic nose, with notes of ripe pineapple and yellow peaches. The flavour is powerful, warming and mellow. It is almost too rich for its own good, but it’s certainly not fading away at all: a touch more acidity to give it backbone and it would be exceptional. As it is, it’s still pretty good and decidedly surprising for the way it has held up over the years.
