Made from Sangiovese grapes. This first year is different from the others because the fermentation took place in steel vats. It has an intense garnet color with an orange edge. The aroma is expressive, developed, with smoky scents and notes of black cherry and rhubarb on a background of damp earth, blackberry and sweet spice. The flavor is distinct with thick tannins, just a tad dusty. The finish is long, slightly bitter and a bit rustic.
