Litra 2012

While this has nothing to do with Etna, on the way to the volcano we stopped at this wonderful estate which after a few years in the dark and found the light. This wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon varietal that ages for 15-18 months in barriques. In has an intense and very bright ruby color and an austere and fresh aroma with notes of graphite and small, dark fruit like currant, mulberry and blackberry along with a light scent of dark orange. The mouthfeel is flavorful and intense with fine and balanced tannins and a nice texture and progression. A youthful and nicely structured wine.
