Le Pergole Torte 2008

Made from Sangiovese grapes. A normal year, dry harvest. A limpid and clear ruby color. The bouquet is an explosion of fruit, blueberry and raspberry, a floral puff and a hint of spice followed by an enveloping balsamic sense. The taste has an invasive, lashing acidity, then a bursting tannin that is already elegant and chases after the acidity to create a taut balance between the two components. In the aftertaste the fruit returns, currant, raspberry and black cherry for a long an warm persistence.
