Le Lucere 2004

This did not thrill me. The person who brought it spoke of it as an exceptional wine. From a technical point of view I have no criticism to make, it has no defects neither evident nor hidden. However, since it is a Sangiovese from Montalcino I found that the fruit, which is normally agile and lively, to be instead too dark, covered by the flavor of the barrel, and it failed to be dynamic and pleasantly fresh. The aroma was nice, however, with balsamic and tobacco scents standing out.
