Lazzarito -Vigna La Delizia 1997

Finally a bottle from this vintage that doesn’t disappoint me. Well, I’m exaggerating a bit, it’s just that up and down the length of Italy I’ve found a good few ’97s that are past it. This really was on top form: extremely gentle tannins, very fresh, powerful fruit, a colour that was slightly dark but, generally speaking, less so than some of the later vintages. A nice tobacco-like note.
