The first thing that stands out is that this still has as a DOC classification, which did not become DOCG until 1998. The second is that the label is a bit in tatters. And then there is the way the wine joyfully pours into the glass, happy to be able to fully and freely express itself. The color is a full, golden yellow, with some antique reflections that betray its age. Time has nicely enriched the nose with complexity and qualitative depth. The aroma is a procession of scents with acacia honey preceding those of sweet almond, medlar and aromatic herbs, with nuances of anise and mineral notes. The first sip unveils how extraordinarily this wine has evolved to become soft, with a bold structure, balanced and consistent with the aroma and a clear and gentle acidic imprint. The finish is long and elegant, a fascinating drop. Price: N/A (no longer for sale).
