    This vintage, together with 2005 and 2004, was one of discord. There was a lot of debate between the wine’s fans (me included) and its detractors with each side insisting they were right. For me, these three vintages are truly special, with a boldness and concentration that time has been unable to tame. For me this 2006 is, in fact, monolithic, perhaps monotonous and certainly difficult, the worst among the even years tasted so far. Nevertheless, keep reading and you’ll understand what I’m saying.
