A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier from more than 20 different vineyards including Chouilly, Mesnil sur Oger, Bergères-les-Vertus, Cumières, Trépail, Cumières, Sacy, Mailly-Champagne, Verzy and Verneuil. The 1995 season was initially rainy with frosts in late April and cool temperatures that delayed the growth of the vines, while the summer sun quickly ripened the grapes so that the harvest began on a sunny September 18. The Chardonnay component was essential in giving a fresh citrus vivacity to the expressive boldness of white fruit and exotic fruit, with notes of ginger and delicate spice. The effervescence is creamy and the body dynamic with notes of golden delicious apple, clementines and white peach with a nicely profound almond paste aftertaste.
