A blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Meunier from 20 different cru including the vineyards Bergères les Vertus, Chouilly, Trépail, Cumières, Verneuil, Sacy and Cumières. The 1975 wine aged superbly thanks to a particularly favorable climate that produced a quality harvest even if it was limited quantity-wise, making this vintage similar to 1952. This is a champagne that is surprising beginning with its color, which is golden but without any sings of oxidation, followed by the richness of the fruit and the acidic tension that is still evident together with a very subtle yet distinct effervescence. The evolved notes are those of rhododendron honey, barley candy and tangerine confit that wrap the palate together with pastry notes while the body seems buttery and grapey at the same time while the finish is full and persistent.
