Il Poggio Riserva 1968

A clear and very bright garnet color. The initial nose is slightly volatile, then becomes more evolved with scents of licorice, tobacco and dried fruits under spirits. The taste is very pronounced, vertical due to an acidity that is a bit flat, taut, subtle yet warm and persistent. The first version without white grapes, in defiance of the rules. The barrels by this time were oak.
