Gris 2008

Alvaro Pecorari produces his Pinot Grigio at San Lorenzo Isontino, not very far from Gradisca. It has a deeper colour than its counterpart from the Alto Adige and broader, more Mediterranean fragrances, with ripe fruit notes (of pears and white peaches in particular), but also with faintly smoky tones that remind one of Pinot Gris from Alsace. It is mellow and rich on the palate, with a small amount of residual sugar that gives it an almost sensual quality, but also makes it less zingy. 20 Euros, or 7 Euros by the glass.
