Grammonte 1999

A 100% Merlot from Castiglione di Sicilia, a town situated at 700m above sea level. The wine ages for 12 months in French oak barriques (40% new wood). It has an intense, concentrated red color with an aroma that is a bit compressed but with breathing reveals scents of low scrubland and blackberry jam along with spicy ones that are uncommonly concentrated. The mouthfeel is almost rotund, soft and velvety.
