Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2002

I had heard that 2002 was such a terrible year that it was decided not to make the wine but there it was, the first of the tasting. What this meant was that those who know how to bring out the best were able to make some fine bottles. The color was a nice straw-yellow with an average boldness and golden reflections. The bead was thick but not fat, the bouquet had clear scents of white and tropical fruit, while the mouthfeel was quite creamy with notes of vanilla. A long, fresh and inviting drop. Although it was ten years old it seemed quite young and we’ll see over the years where it goes.
