Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 1994

Disgorged in 2010, the wine has now begun to strut its stuff and after almost 20 years it is still lively and young in both the glass and the mouth. With time the wine has become more complex, its sensations more varied and deep. The bouquet now has clear notes of apple, citrus, aromatic herbs and that distinct scent of warm panettone. The mouthfeel, while creamy and thick, was very sharp and cutting, like the ceramic knives used to make sushi. I expect this to still have a long life ahead of it.
