Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 1993

This was also disgorged in 2010 and thus was a 20-year-old wine. At the risk of sounding crazy I would say it still has a long way to go given its exuberance and vivacity. The bead was fine and persistent but this vintage stood out for its strength and how nervous it was. The color was still very bright and shimmering, while the flavor had touches of almond, white chocolate and candied lemon peel. The mouthfeel was warm and sweet but with everything needed to ensure its great drinkability. The aroma was different, divergent, and almost brutal with its notes of anise and cut grass and bold floral bouquet. I would suggest drinking it in a few years but if you can get your hands on a bottle you can drink it without remorse, it’s wonderful!
