Marcello opened a magnum of this vintage, disgorged in 2009, which had the usual straw-yellow color with golden reflections, although they were no longer that bright. The aroma had some pretty obvious problems indicating the wine was beginning to show its age, as demonstrated by its evolved, oxidized and almost sherry-like notes. However, when you tasted it a miracle occurs. The flavor was perhaps the best of the whole tasting: ripe, very creamy, sweet, with ripe apple and honey, candied fruit and vanilla. The sensation of cleanliness it left was outstanding not to mention the persistence. Despite the aroma problem we drank this at dinner with immense pleasure and joy. The rating is averaged out between one for the aroma and another for the taste.
