Girgis Catarratto 2009

A 'solid' wine evident already in its color, a bold yellow with copper reflections. The color, in fact, is the first indication of a significant fermentation on the lees, nicely interpreted by this young winemaker who is an almost extreme advocate of sustainable farming. There is a little reduction in the bouquet but it vanishes with a little breathing and ushers in scents of elder and laurel, medicinal herbs and iris. The mouthfeel is a little aggressive, skin-tasting, very fruity. It winds up in glory with a lovely persistence. Convincing.
