Ginestra Casa Maté 2005

An unusual Ginestra without a strong ‘Grasso style’. The garnet color has nervous reflections, a dark, somewhat rustic aroma with strong scents of verbena and leather that are consistent with the flavor. The tannins are coarse but not clenched making the wine a rustic. The finish is almost phenolic with notes of tar. While a bit short on fruit, this remains a pleasing wine.
