Franciacorta Gran Cuvée Pas Operé 1997

A year that was hot and very dry in the spring, then regular throughout the summer. It is made from 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Nero grapes. The colour is a golden yellow and the perlage is intense, dense and slow. It sis broad and evolved on the nose, with smoky and ripe exotic fruit notes, followed by almonds and flint and hints of chestnut honey. The attack on the palate is full, warming, very creamy and full-bodied, with good persistence but a little too much evolution towards rather rustic notes.
