A great year with a late harvest, which was considered perfect in Franciacorta. It is made from 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Nero grapes. It is decidedly golden, with a dense, slow perlage, even if it is not particularly abundant. The nose displays rare complexity: it is still wonderfully fruity, with notes of ripe yellow plums followed by mineral hints and smoky tones from the reduction of the yeasts, as well as marked suggestions of chestnut honey. The flavour is fresh, supple, creamy and lively: in a word, elegant. This is a great version, which has a long, almost saline finish.
