At the end of the day, Alessandrojacopo unexpectedly opened a vintage 1990, in other words a 25-year-old wine. Only the color was somewhat off with an orange edge betraying its age. Aside from that the wine was splendid with the bouquet opening slowly to offer notes of damp underbrush, mushrooms, spice, wood and something smoked. The mouthfeel was upright, still meaty and, if possible, even finer with elegant notes of sweet spice and dried fruit.
