Passito Scacco Matto 2008

A small masterpiece invented by Cristina Geminiani, a real wine woman, who personally looks after her vines and the wine-making. It is made from raisined Albana grapes that were in part attacked by noble rot. The color is a golden, solar yellow, the bouquet complex of honey, saffron, curry and tobacco peach jam. The taste is sweet but not sickly so, well-upheld and held in check by an almost biting acidic component that creates a taut and aristocratic balance. It closes with a very long and wrapping persistence.
