Faro Palari 2005

A Sicilian masterpiece, a wine that was probably born by mistake from a plot in Morey St. Denis that was moved to under the shadow of the great volcano because it recalls both the southern sea and the northern latitudes. Its crystal-clear color is quite amazing, while the aroma has many sides to it with small raspberries and strawberries, tobacco, minerals. Aging has added chocolate and balsamic nuances to the bouquet, all nicely intense. The mouthfeel is balanced, elegant and with a 'nordic' silkiness, in some ways impalpable. Its incredible drinkability makes this wine a true champion in its category and an absolute point of reference.
