A version that is slightly out of balance, the result of a very hot, dry year, which has led to an excess of tannins as well as other components that have speeded up the wine’s evolution. The colour is an intense, concentrated garnet; its bouquet is ethereal and alcoholic, with notes of bitter cherries in brandy, blackcurrants and peaches in syrup. The flavour is full but a bit coarse, thanks to faintly green tannins that are due to the scarce polyphenolic ripening and slight dehydration of the grapes. There is a dilution of the fruit by the alcohol on the finish, with an evident warm and slightly bitterish aftertaste.
