This is a rather hot and decidedly Mediterranean year and a version of Faro Palari that is very appealing, but lacks great complexity. Now, too, it is just starting to show signs of early ageing. The colour is a deep garnet. The nose is dominated by slightly alcoholic notes, which then give way to those of cling peaches, fresh almonds, caramel and blackcurrants. There are some animal-like and even brettanomyces hints which limit its elegance. The softness of the glycerine is dominant on the palate, making everything taste rounded and uniform. The finish is warming and alcoholic.
