A rather hot year and a not particularly successful version of the wine, even though the level of quality remains more than adequate. The colour is a fairly deep garnet with orangey reflections. It isn’t entirely clean on the nose: one is aware of fairly evident animal-like and brettanomyces hints, which don’t completely cover up the smoky and spicy notes, but do partly impair their elegance. It is better on the palate, with faint hints of slightly rustic tannins against a general background of excellent fruit. The finish is persistent, with a faintly bitter aftertaste.
