This Riserva is from the southeastern part of the district, towards Castelnuovo dell'Abate, and produced by the winery of the former head of the Brunello producers' association, Filippo Fanti.
It is a very convincing wine with its intense garnet color and an aroma that is almost Bordeaux-like with typical and ripe fruit and the proper amount of wood (Fanti is one of the 'modernists'). Agile and full-bodied, with soft and thick tannins, its structure and acidity make it overall a rich, warm wine with a long aftertaste.
