Another great, classic Franciacorta from a fantastic winery known for the continuity and top quality of its wines. For me this 2007 Comari is 'only' very good, a bottle that gives this wine's fans and detractors much to argue about. The color is an intense yellow with almost golden reflections. The bouquet is clean, sharp, warm with bakery notes up front including a little white chocolate, fruits like orange, even candied, and then citron, orange blossom and bergamot. This is all underscored by roasted coffee and a wiff of honey, all adding to the warmth and highlighted by woody notes. The flavor is fatty, opulent, a true champion, with a very delicate effervescence that upholds the extractive mass with a bit of effort but the finish is truly captivating.
