Etna Rosso 2009

Made from Nero Mascalese grapes. The aroma is a dark as lava, with spicy and smoky notes that dominate over delicate floral scents of geranium and ripe fruit that almost seems under spirits. A tad of too much alcohol is held in check by a whiff of sweet tobacco and a slight marine sensation of brine. In the flavor the tannins are still a bit sharp, the acidity is good and the finish is pleasingly modulated on roasted coffee notes.
