A down-to-earth Champagne but one with character and defined and intriguing traits, produced using Pinot Meunier from the village of Avirey-Lingey in Aube. It was bottled June 15, 2010 and disgorged March 13, 2015 with a dosage of 2.5g/l. It has a strong personality with distinct floral notes of magnolia and rhododendron along with those of wood and spice, dried fruit, golden delicious apple pulp and ripe mango in the aroma. The mouthfeel is full with toasted notes and those of quince apple, while the low dosage provides a nice balancing freshness. While somewhat rough, this is an expression of a vision that is not without charm.
