Dosaggio Zero Gualberto 2006

This historic winery, belonging to the former head of the Consorzio, has for several years now made an abrupt change in course to achieve higher quality. Its straw-yellow color, not very deep, denotes a very minute effervescence while the bouquet takes some time to open on notes of bread crust, ground coffee and toasted nuts (which I found a little intrusive). The vegetal scents of rosemary and chinotto are interesting with an evolved but not decadent nuance. The taste is decidedly rich and intense with a nice saltiness while there are still some smoky notes in the aftertaste.
