Made from Sangiovese grapes, this wine is the result of careful grape 5ELECTion in the two areas where Olga Peluso owns vineyards: Friggiali and Pietranera, situated in very different parts of the Montalcino zone. The former is to the north-west, the latter to the south. It has a lively ruby colour with good concentration and inviting perfumes of blackberries, raspberries and sour cherries. Its flavour is forthright, with tannins that are just a little dusty because of the hot vintage. The finish is long, with a hint of bitter-sweet fruit. Serve it at 20°C (68°F) with roast chine of pork, a meat stew or braised wild boar.
