A Marsala bottled by Marco de Bartoli but about which we do not know much, since the white label only indicates the year. According to his son Renato, it was probably a reserve selected by his father at the baglio in Angileri, near Samperi, when he struck out on his own and was looking for some old base wines and the reserves were sold by the kilo. It is a wine with an acidic level of 8, not from the malic acid nor the tartaric acid but from organic acids. The bouquet is initially a little closed but then becomes very fine and lively with broad and intense nuances. There are notes of laurel, mallow, flowers, gorse and strawflower with chestnut honey as well as juniper and cinchona.
