This estate of dual nationality was created in the 1980s by Paolo Montresor and Count Enrico di Sarentino Wallemburg and not only makes wine but also offers hospitality to guests for short periods. The lion’s share of the blend (95%) is Pinot Noir with a 5% addition of Chardonnay. The wine has both personality and potential and its lovely effervescence illuminates its straw-yellow color. Production is limited to 5,000 bottles.
This is a wine of great class with a mineral silhouette giving it fragrance and a gentle severity. The aroma is a fruit cocktail of bladder cherry, white melon, blood orange and bramble berries with a touch of almond. The fruit component mixes well with scents of pan brioche, cotton candy, rosehip tea, mulberry and the scent of the terroir. The mouthfeel is lively and tickles with its tasty acidic streak, lovely and vertical, even if the overall flavor has a rich and vaporous texture.
