Made from Dolcetto grapes grown on ungrafted vines in the vineyard of the same name that macerate on the skins for 12 days before maturing in glass-lined cement vats for 24 months. The ruby-red and limpid color is quite dark with bright and lively reflection while in the aroma the fresh, fruity notes are counter-balanced by riper notes and those of sweet spice with a touch of black pepper. The bold, saline and distinct mouthfeel remains flowing, dynamic and persistent but is richer. A vintage with the balance on tiptoes and it will be interesting to see how it evolves, even if it is fine to enjoy it now seeing how it just come out on the market.
