Made from Dolcetto grapes grown on ungrafted vines in the vineyard of the same name that macerate on the skins for 12 days before maturing in glass-lined cement vats for 24 months. This was the first vintage under the new classification. The wine has an intense and limpid ruby-red color with dark reflections and while the nose has the varietal’s fruity notes, here they are riper and there are also those of leather and underbrush. The mouthfeel is decidedly different, bolder and more intense, and while the alcohol is more pronounced it is kept under control. While this remains serious and balanced, it is rounder with fine and elegant tannins.
