A blend of 64% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay half of which is fermented in wood without malolactic fermentation. The wine ages for 10 years on the lees before receiving a dosage of 4.5g/l that makes this an acute and delicately grapey Champagne. Vintage 2005 was the result of a year rich in contrasts: cold and drought in the winter, rain and heat during the ripening period and a hot and particularly dry harvest. The wine has an onionskin color and a bouquet that immediately opens with notes of candied tangerine, pink grapefruit peel, currant and dog rose with a metallic hint and cinnamon nuances. The mouthfeel is taut, vital and full of citrus notes with those of kumquat and raspberry exalting the freshness of the grapey vein and generosity of this juicy and intriguing Champagne.
