This is essentially a Sangiovese and has a distinct ruby color with a sedate transparency. It reaches the market three years after harvest and after aging 12 months in barriques and another six months in the bottle. The bouquet is an impressive unfolding of aromas: black cherry, black prune, nectarines and scarlet red roses hemmed in by a tenuous vegetal hint. The mouthfeel has a measured structure with distinct and soft tannins accompanied by a fresh note and a long finish.
