Purists turn their noses up at this because 2003 here is considered a great year. However, it was very hot and this is evident also in this wine. Its garnet color is a tad evolved and the aroma has notes that range from back cherry to tamarind and raspberry jam. The mouthfeel is rich and warm, with hints of tannins, even if overall it is a little less agile than normal. The drinkability is somewhat compromised by the extracts and the finish is long but also slightly bitter.
