This year was considered an average one in the zone and this version of Rayas right now is a bit more evolved than one would have expected. It has a dark, garnet color with aromas that seem almost ‘Barolo-esque’, with an austere note of goudron and licorice alongside the usual ones of black cherry and wild strawberry jam. The mouthfeel is agile, a tad tannic, with a salty acidity and a long finish that has a hint of bitterness at the end which recalls the initial aroma.
