This is perhaps the best vintage tasted. It has an intense and concentrated ruby color and clear and elegant aromas, which even if a bit high in alcohol are fruity with scents of raspberry, blackcurrant, Virginia tobacco and smoky notes that with time will certainly lean towards tarry. The mouthfeel is splendid, taut, with strong yet fine tannins nicely held in check. The close is warm, wrapping, deep and long, with an exceptional body for a wine from these parts. While still long, it will age like a great Margaux.
