Cave di Prun Riserva 2007

A blend of 65% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 10% Corvinone and 5% of other local varietals. 80% of the wine aged in wood for 48 months of which 2/3 were American and French barriques half of which were being used for the 2nd and 3rd time. The remaining 20% of the wine aged in stainless steel vats. The wine has a lively garnet color and an intensely smoky aroma with sensations of spice and pepper, root and rhubarb, orange peel and cherries preserved in alcohol. The mouthfeel is savory and balsamic with nice softness and good tannins. The long finish has sensations of dried tomato and cardamom.
