Camarato 2005

This is perhaps the best vintage ever. The product of a fairly cool year, it expresses itself with typically Mediterranean elegance. It has a lively, bright ruby-garnet colour. Its bouquet displays balsamic, cardamom-like tones, as well as hints of sour cherries and blackberries, against a faintly smoky background. Its flavour is full yet supple, not too tannic and well supported by an almost brackish tanginess that accompanies the fruit towards a long, warm and soothing finish. Serve it at 20°C and accompany it with roast lamb, roe-deer with bilberries or aubergine parmigiana.
