While again from Predappio, this is from the lower part of the district. The color is rich, intense, bright and nicely intact. The excellent aroma has distinct fruity notes of marasca cherry, blackberry and currant, while over ten years in the bottle have added incipient scents of light leather and blond tobacco. The mouthfeel is very elegant with settled tannins and a lovely acidity that has kept the wine young and quite drinkable. The flavor may not be outstanding but it does have great elegance and balance, with a finish that lives up to expectations, is consistent with the aroma and holds up well. When it first came out it was a bit compromised by some invasive wood but now the contribution of the wood is perfect, a sign the producer made the right call.
