Ca’ Marcanda 2007

We are in Tuscany, in Bolgheri, in one of the two Tuscan wineries of the very Piemontese Angelo Gaja. At first this would appear to be a wine made from international grapes and created specifically to meet the tastes of rich Americans who pay in dollars. However, this is not the case. This is a very serious wine, not one out to please. In fact, initially it is a quite reticent and broody, with a very delicate and thick tannic profile, while after it breathes the glass is of great persistence and solar beauty.
