This was a bit better. The year produced some great wines in Montalcino, however this one is only 'very good' because it failed to cross the threshold to excellence. The garnet color is lively and intense, while the classic aroma has light tobacco, lychees and traces of red fruit. A sight scent of licorice and floral bouquet of oleander make it all quite pleasing. The taste is severe, marred by tannins that are still a bit aggressive. This wine cannot express elegance because while its extracts are significant, the tannins are too invasive and slightly dry out the finish, which still excellently recalls the aroma. An austere wine.
