This red is made two thirds from Montepulciano grapes and about a third from Sangiovese. Aside from being a very reliable wine, it also has an exceptional price/quality ratio to say the least.
The color is a bright and intense ruby, while the aroma has classic scents of red fruit under spirits together with wild flowers and a smoked accent. The flavor is balanced, taut, easy to drink.
It should be served at cellar temperature, 14°C, and is good paired with brazed lamb chops and rigatoni all’amatriciana.
